As part of a program designed to asses the extent of radon problems and to inform the public, GIS is used to help identify areas that may present the highest potential for radon problems. Data collected from home radon tests and geological data are analyzed to determine areas of high potential radon problems. Addresses are geocoded using a geocoding service and are presented as a layer applied to a map depicting the areas determined to have high potential for radon problems based on geology features. The following GIS procedures were completed for this report to generate maps to help identify areas of high radon potential and target areas for public education efforts:
