The GAP Analysis Project has generated information that can be used to identify and assess areas that are best suited as habitats for a number of species, including white-tail deer.  A simple analysis was performed to create maps of the Lake Raystown (PA) watershed that incorporate existing habitat model values for the white-tail deer with land stewardship and land use data by calculating zonal statistics.

A map of the white-tail deer habitat model shows areas represented by one of three values associated with habitat type.  Two other maps show conservation areas and areas based on land use  that are better suited as habitats for white tail deer.
